The collection includes diaries, papers, manuscripts and field notes of Lucien and Jane Hanks pertaining to their research in Bang Chan, Thailand and its environs. Their anthropological research includes subjects such as local culture and rituals, socio-economic studies including analyses and comparison of individual villages, pre-natal and pediatric care, child rearing and dietary customs. Evidence from the Hank's research contributed to a report produced by the Fulbright Foundation. The collection also contains photographs documenting village life and customs, buildings and canals.
